Maps

The coastal town of Puerto Peñasco is located less than 60 miles from Arizona at the Sea of Cortez, along the northeastern coastline of Sonora, Mexico.

Puerto Peñasco is located within the NAFTA-defined “free zone”. This special zone requires no passport from US citizens only a valid official form of identification such as a drivers license, birth certificate or social security card.

Due to the new Homeland Security measures all other citizenships do require a passport and visa to reenter the U.S.

Driving Directions

Three natural estuaries full of unique animal and plant life converge with a sea that daily reveals new secrets of its own as dramatic tides can alter as much as 20 feet. The Peñasco area offers unique opportunities for relaxation, education and adventure.

Protected national reserve lands play an important part in preserving the area’s dramatic topography.
