The coastal town of Puerto Peñasco is located less than 60 miles from Arizona at the Sea of Cortez, along the northeastern coastline of Sonora, Mexico. Puerto Peñasco is located within the NAFTA-defined “free zone”. This special zone requires no passport from US citizens only a valid official form of identification such as a drivers license, birth certificate or social security card.
